Dear Colleagues,  

    I want to thank all of you for your help with one of our biggest District events of the year - the Audition Day at Chanute on November 8! Everyone who brought students had a big influence over the success of the day. Thank you for the time spent helping your students prepare, and for the help with judging, supervision, and all those extras that are often taken for granted. What a wonderful, new facility we have in Chanute High School, and didn't the Orchestra give a fine performance in that new auditorium?

    I hope you will join me offering a BIG thank you to our hosts at Chanute High School, particularly the Music faculty, Russell Vallier and James Kelso. They put in a lot of time and effort organizing and setting up for the auditions and Orchestra concert. If you are so inclined, a note to the CHS Principal would be appropriate and well-received, I am sure! You can find necessary info in the KSHSAA membership book that your administrator has.

    Finally, please take a moment to thank the real stars of the day - our Chair persons who run the whole event - Jane Williams, Orchestra, Gae Phillips Jazz Band, Chris Shaw, Choir, and James Fox, Band. Their email addresses can be found on the "Contacts" page.
