Rate increases:

To help cover ever-increasing expenses, we have raised some fees slightly. Current fees are:

• November Audition fees: $4.00 per audition ($1.00 increase)

• November/December Participation fees: $5.00 per student (no increase)

• January Participation fees: $4.00) per student ($.50 increase)

New Teachers! (also not-so new!)

Help Day for students auditioning in Band

A valuable new event this year - to help Band students who are working on audition music for November auditions! Band Chair James Fox is finalizing plans for this. You may contact him from the "Contacts" page.

Clearing up some fees confusion:

Schools need to pay fees for every event in which students participate. This includes auditions and participation fees for those who "make" the Honor Groups. Elementary and Middle School groups do not audition, and so have no audition fees, only participation fees. Teachers, please make sure you pay all necessary fees - after auditions, there will be participation fees for students in the Honor Groups.

Sep. 27, 2008 - Band Audition HELP day at Allen County Comm. College

Deadline - Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 - Middle School Band entries

Deadline - Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 - Elementary Choir entries

Nov. 8, 2008 – (Chanute) Meeting: Mass Orchestra Concerts (?); Auditions: HS Band and HS Choir

Dec. 4, 2008 – (location – PSU Memorial Auditorium) District Honor Jazz Band (with PSU Jazz Band)

Dec. 6, 2008 – (Altamont) District Mini-Convention: District Choir, Band, & Chamber Orchestra Concerts

Jan. 10, 2009 – (Salina) State Instrumental Auditions

Jan. 17, 2009 – (Burlington HS) Meeting: Elementary and MS Honor Choirs, MS Honor Band Concerts.
